What made you choose math? When did you decide that it would become your profession? Let's talk about your first mathematical memories. When you were still a child. What was your first encounter with mathematics? During the ceremony of the CIRM-40th anniversary, in October, you gave a talk 'Singularities, contact loci and Floer Homology' in which you reported some very promising results, which ones? Abstract : Javier Fernandez de Bobadilla works in Singularity Theory and Algebraic Geometry. His interests lie in arc spaces, normal surface singularities, geometry of degenerating families (from a topological, geometric and cohomological viewpoints), intersection cohomology and its variations, Lipschitz geometry, characteristic classes of singular spaces and other aspects of geometry and topology of algebraic varieties.
